A note from a young adventurer
One of my favourite things about galloping off on an adventure is returning and sharing my tails (🧜♀️) with wee nippers. The day before I first slid into the Thames up in Lechlade, I sat in the little assembly hall of the local primary school with my feet bound in the monofin and my tail pulled right up to my waist to tell them what I was about to do. ‘Woooah, is she a real mermaid’ one 6 year old asked his friend as they walked in. ‘Erm, excuse me Urban Mermaid, are mermaids friends with sharks?’ Another asked. And then one little lad in the front row proceeded to tell me his life story, all 4 years of it, before telling me that yes, he does have his own Paw Patrol reusable bottle. Kids are so wonderfully innocent, enthusiastic and absolute champions in wanting to protect our mates in the oceans. So, receiving an email from one of their teachers, attached with 30 newspaper reports written by them, about our journey really warmed my heart this morning. And yes, we really did go to a Unicorn school ❤️❤️❤️🧜♀️
